Why is aluminium oxide considered an atmospheric oxide ?

aluminum oxide is considered as an amophoteric oxide as it reacts with acids as well as base.

Aluminium oxide (Al2O3) shows basic as well as acidic behaviour because it reacts with both acids abd basis. Thus it is considered as atmospheric oxide.
