Why is ammetre connect in series in an electric circuit?

Ammeter is connected in the series because it measures the

current which would be flowing in a single series line by a

series of electrons.if it is connect in parallel it damage the whole circuit.

Ammeter should be connected in series only. This is because it is used to measure the current and however if we connect it into parallel connection then it would damage the circuit and damage itself.

As In parallel connection there is low resistance and chances of damage becomes high.
