gas molecules spread out to fill the container like solid and liquid. gas is a state of matter which has no fixed shape and fixed volume gases have low density than the other States of matter show the gas molecules exert more pressure on the inner wall of the container they have a large empty space between the molecules so the molecules move fast and collide with each other and distributes through the volume of the container and as we know matter is a substance which occupies space and have energy that is why any gas molecules are matter
