Atmosphere includes all the gasses that are the main source of our existence like, oxygen, nitrogen, carbon dioxide. The nitrogen fixation is also happens because of nitrogen in air. We need oxygen to survive and the atmosphere contains 21% of oxygen. Carbon dioxide is useful for burning. Thus, atmosphere is essential for our survival. If atmosphere is not there then our planet will be vacuum where sound, light cannot travel because they don't contain atoms as the air contain by which we can hear all the sounds and can see objects around us.
