ATP is a complex chemical bond also it is not releasing its energy it has been stored to be used when needed. Hence, it is an example of chemical potential energy.

Answer: ATP ( adenosine triphosphate) is considered as the energy currency of the cell as it stores energy in the cell. It is an example of chemical potential energy because energy is stored in the high energy containing phosphoanhydride bond (between phosphate molecules in the ATP).
When the cell requires energy for various processes, the stored energy is liberated by the hydrolysis of ATP.
Since both chemical and potential energy are the forms of stored energy. Therefore, ATP is an example of chemical potential energy.
