why is auxiliary memory required?

It is required so that set of instruction given first stored in temporary memory which can be edited then can be stored

It is required to store data it's not a volatile memory like Ram it stores data for a longer time unless you wanted to delete them. Or you memory become corrupted
Example of auxiliary memory is
HDD
Flash drive
SSD
Compact disk
