why is bakelite a thermosetting plastic?

bakelite is a cross linked and branched molecule which on heating undergo extensive cross linking in moulds and again become infusible.and it cannot be reused then thats why it is thermosetting plastic.

Thermosetting plastics, like Bakelite or polyurethane, are different because they harden as you heat them. Once they have set, you can't melt them.
