why is blood brighter red in arteries while darker in veins

Look arteries carry pure blood from the heart to the orther parts of the body .... and hence it is oxygenated which means red ...
Whereas Veins they carry impure blood that is from the different parts of the body to the heart and thus contains Carbon-dioxide in it ... which gives it a darker colour ....
