Blood is a connective tissue. The cells of connective tissue are embedded in the homogenous,intercellular substance called matrix of the tissue.In case of blood,the matrix is liquid or fluid in nature called plasma.Due to the fluid matrix, blood is a fluid. The blood cells are present in the plasma.
