The name Rongali is derived from the word “Rong”, which means happiness and celebration. The first day of Bohag Bihu is reserved for cattle and farm animals.

therefore, Rongali or Bohag Bihu comes in April, Kongali or Kati Bihu is observed in October while Bhogali or Magh Bihu is celebrated in January
