It's there because it put in there.Dissolved carbon dioxide is carbonic acid , which adds a pleasantly acidic flavour and an interesting mouth feel. When it's not present, the drink taste flat.. When beverages get harm, the gas molecules have more energy and leave more quickly and the soda gets flat faster .
