Political censorship occurs when governments hold back information from their citizens. This is often done to exert control over the populace and prevent free expression that might foment rebellion. Religious censorship is the means by which any material considered objectionable by a certain religion is removed

When the government prevents either a news item or scenes from a movie or the lyrics of song from being shared with the largest public this is referred to as censorship . It is important as the government can remove any illegal part or anything which might hurt someone's relegion etc. or something which is not to be shown to larger public .
