Why is CH4 considered as penta-atomic molecules?

Methane has 1 carbon atom and 4 Hydrogen atoms at tetrahedral positions. Now, as per your question, the molecule with 5 Atoms (Penta atomic) is METHANE as it contain a total of 5 atoms, as compared to Phosphorus(4 atoms
