Why is chlorine added to waste water?

chlorine is a highly efficient disinfectant so when it is added to waste water it kills pathogens like bacteris ,viruses,etc

Hi friend ,

Chlorine is added to water so as to disinfect or clean the water. As chlorine kills off the pathogens like bacteria present in water making it disinfectant.
