The Indian government, while proposing an Amendment, said, that its bill aims to grant quicker access to citizenship to those who have fled religious persecution in neighbouring countries and have taken refuge in India. The Bill was introduced in Lok Sabha on 19 July 2016 as the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016

It is caused because the Indian citizens did not want the Bangladeshi people get the Indian citizen certificate and bacome Indian.( not only bangladeshi,but also people of our neighborhood countries)
