There are two kinds of executives in a state and both of them have specialized functions in the development of a state. These two kinds are; political executives who make laws, and non-political executives who inform laws. The two work together to ensure the smooth day-to-day functioning of the administration and people under the control of political executives. Some of the effects of frequent changes to executives include,

  • Irregularities in enforcing laws. If there is not a smooth transition between executives or there is a sudden change then it will become hard to enforce regulations that were already enforced by previous executives.
  • Political instability. If there is a constant change in executives then there is likely to be a sense of upheaval and political instability especially when it comes to transitioning from a change in rules.
  • It can also affect neighboring countries and associates if they feel like the new changes do not fit their agenda. This continues with political instability and international conflict.
  • Daily functions such as appointments of positions of power also get disrupted in the process. Another aspect that gets affected is the policy-making functions which will not have a smooth rollout if there are conflicting views between executives.
  • One of the major functioning of executives is to maintain war and peace. As mentioned earlier, if there is a constant change in executives then certain functions and ideals will be switched around which can cause great tension within international borders.
