Evaporation is a kind of vaporization that occurs on the surface of a liquid. There occurs a phase transfer as it changes into the gas phase when it boils at its boiling point. There is a condition that the surrounding gas must not be saturated with the evaporating substance.
When evaporation occurs then the liquid (mostly water) absorbs the laten heat from the surroundings and we feel cool. evaporation causes cooling effect because the heat energy is being abosorbed by the surroundings.
