Why is copper preferred in water heaters?

if you mean a kettle style water heating system copper is used because of it's ability to conduct Heat aluminium works well for this purpose also and is used a lot of industrial hot tanks mainly due to the cost but copper has several excellent properties but is costly compared to other alternatives
