Today, the cotton industry is one of the largest industries in India. There are many reasons for this, which are given below:

Explanation:

1. There are some thousands of human made fibre and cotton textile mills in India. Nearly 80% of these are private sectors and the remaining ones are cooperative and public sectors. Apart from these, there are many small factories with looms.

2. Cotton industry creates many other industries by creating demands. Other benefited industries are dyes, chemicals, packaging materials, mill stores and engineering works.
