Because it is located between the densely and sparsely populated regions in Southern India ,it had rugged and undulating topography so it is not densely populated area.But in Deccan plateau there have several mining which promote development of several industries,not only this in many areas in this region there had been improvements in irrigation facilities helps the region moderately populated
