A diamond is a good conductor because it has extremely very high boiling point in which lots of heat is required so it is a good thermal conductor and an excellent electric insulator because for the conducuting electron free electron are required and if we look through its diagram that no electron is free for the conductense of the electicity that is why it is an excellent insulator.

The strong covalent bonding means that when you heat the material the thermal vibrations are rapidly transmitted through diamond.  Hence it is a good thermal conductor.

On the other hand, the lack of free electrons in the structure means that, unlike graphite, it is a very poor conductor of electricity.
