Diffusion is insufficient to meet the oxygen requirement in multicellular organisms or in animals because through diffusion very less amount of oxygen is supplied and as we know in multicellular organisms a huge amount of energy is needed and for such a large amount of energy to be released large amount of food should be broken in the presence of huge amount of oxygen for supply of which diffusion is insufficient.
