Why is dipole moment of CH3F lower than CH3Cl?

as dipole moment is proportional to charge and distance both. but here the bond length dominates due to less diff. in electronegativity of Fluorine and chlorine due to small size of fluorine Ch³F bond is smaller than ch³cl
