Why is discharge of untreated sewage in water bodies not desirable

the sewage contain lot of toxic if we discharge it directe to the water bodies the toxic harm yhe aquatic animal or it also harmful for other animal which depends on the water of those body.

It is cuz it makes the overall water and surrounding environment really polluted and can lead lead to life threats.The marine life like fishes are really adversely affected by it and this could be seen by observing the large no of dead fishes lying on the river bank.
Also it provides an ideal place for the breeding of flies and mosquitoes which furthermore gives rise to several diseases like malaria an dengue.
In short the whole of the surrounding are effected  and also the environment is harshly affected.
