DNA replication is important since it creates a next copy of DNA that have to go into one of the two daughter cells when a cell divides. Without replication, each cell lacks adequate hereditary fabric to give instructions for creating proteins vital for bodily purpose.

DNA replication is important to the growth and development of a multi-cellular organism because it passes on the genetic information. When DNA replicates itself, it produces a new copy of an organisms genetic information

Answer:

Every cell needs DNA in order to grow and develop. Multicellular organism needs more cells and  DNA replication is important to multicellular organism as DNA replication  produces two identical copies of a particular DNA molecule. Once the DNA in a cell is replicated, it can be  divided . The daughter cells have the instructions to become more specialized and carry out their function efficiently.

Explanation:

  • DNA replication  produces two identical copies of a particular DNA molecule.
  • This is essential for cell division during growth or repair of damaged tissues as DNA replication ensures that each new cell receives its own copy of the DNA.
  • DNA replication is said to be semi conservative because the original DNA strands are split into two halves and each half is used as a template to make the complementary strand (the other half).
  • The complementary strands are made up of free nucleotides that are floating around the nucleus.
  • The semi-conservative nature of DNA replication is possible because of the base pairing rules that ensure a cells machinery matches the bases correctly so that the sequence remains unchanged or no mutations occur .
  • The Attachments is showing DNA replication chromosomes that are consist of two copies . Each copy is referred to as a Chromatid. The region where they are held together is called the Centromere.
