After refraction if the light ray comes out of the medium to the original medium ,then it is called emergent ray whereas
******incidence ray of light which strikes the surface (medium) is called incident ray
if the incident ray moves from rarer to denser medium it bents towards the normal whereas ******light ray moving from denser to rarer medium moves away from normal
hope helped.

➡When a ray of light passes from a denser medium to a rarer medium, the angle of refraction (r) is greater than the angle of incidence (i). When a ray of light travels from a glass into the air, it bends away from the normal. The speed of the light ray increases, causing it to bend away from the normal.
