why is F the most electronegative element?

Electronegativity of Fluorine. Fluorine is the most electronegative elementbecause it has 5 electrons in it's 2P shell. The optimal electron configuration of the 2P orbital contains 6 electrons, so since Fluorine is so close to ideal electron configuration, the electrons are held very tightly to the nucleus

F is the most electronegative element in period in periodic table as  their configuration is 1 electron less than the noble gases.
F is more electronegative because it has small radius and hence as the result of this , the electrons are most tightly bounded to the nucleus as the larger radius decrease the nuclear force acting on the electrons .
