because filter is remove smaller particle of impurities and sedimentation and decantation is remove larger solid impurities.
so filtration is better that sedimentation and decantation.

Sedimentation is a process of separating large particles of solid from a mixture of solid and liquid under gravity, by leaving the mixture undisturbed for a long time. The larger and heavier solid particles settles down leaving the clear liquid above it.

Decantation is a method which follows sedimentation. Once the solid has completely settled down, the clear liquid above is poured out leaving behind the insoluble heavy solid particles.

Filtration on the other hand is a more sophisticated approach of separation of a solid and liquid. Here a filter paper is used to filter the insoluble solid particles from a mixture of solid and liquid.

Out of all the above mentioned techniques, filtration is a much better and sensitive approach for separation of a mixture of solid and liquid because it can be used to separate even smaller solid particles, which may not completely settle down with sedimentation. At the same time, during decantation, there is a chance of the particles mixing back in the liquid. Filtration technique can be used to overcome this as well.
