A flower is a modified shoot. A flower is a modified shoot. The meristem of the flower stem is determinate, meaning that once the flower parts are produced, no further cell division occurs. Flower parts, which are modified leaves, are arranged in whorls on the expanded apex of the flower stalk or pedicel.

Shoot is an important part of a plant which consists different types of plant anatomy parts such as leaves, stems, bud and many others.

Similarly, the flowers also have similar anatomy like the shoots of plant but the allover structure is little bit complex than the plant shoots.

That's why the flower is often known as the modified shoot of a plant in the field of botany.
