friction is a necessary evil because it has both advantages and disadvantages , like :
due to friction we are able to walk on the floor or surface
due to friction we are able to write on a paper
due to friction screeching sound is produced by a door
it causes wear and tear too.

Friction is necessary to control motion. We stop a running vehicle quickly as there is friction between tyres & ground. But friction becomes an evil while we want to move a object. As friction increases we have exert more force.
