Gold industry was one of the largest industry in the world in olden days. But the industry  is facing an inevitable decline nowadays and hence it is called as sunset industry.

Explanation:

A sunset industry is an industry which shrinks from its profitable periods after a long time. South Africa’s gold mining history was at its peak in the olden days but it continues to shrink as miners could not get the metal even they dig deeper in an ore bodies and also struggling to sell it at a low cost. So the buyers become less and the Gold industry is making less profit and is facing a threat of decline.
