graphite is a good conductor of heat and electricity  because in graphite each carbon atom has a free electron in its valance shell, free electron are responsible for conductivity of electricity.

hope it's help u

Even though graphite is an allotrope of carbon,it is not tetra covalent I.e, every graphite carbon is not bonded with another carbon. One is left unbonded thus leaving a free electron which can conduct electricity. Cheers!
