why is gravitational force a non contact force?

gravitational force is non contact force because it does not make contact with the object

Answer:

Force of gravity acts on objects lying on or near the surface of Earth.It also acts on distant objects such as shown leaves falling from trees,water in pipes flowing downwards,revolution of moon around the Earth.

In this all cases,objects are not in contact with the earth.So it termed as a non-contact force.
