$</font>$Rainwater harvesting is important due to the following reasons :

1. The amount of fresh water on earth is limited. And we know that rainwater is the best method of getting water on the earth and so rainwater harvesting is very important for us.

2. For upcoming generations, there must be shortage of water because of the limited amount of water, so, if we use rainwater for purposes other than drinking and cooking, then we save some water(ground water) for them.

3. In our country, there occur drought in almost every year. So, if we practice rainwater harvesting, then we can save some water for that critical condition.
