The purpose of your heart is to pump blood to the organs and tissues of your body that need the oxygen and nutrients it carries. The heart is a muscle too, and to enable it to pump effectively, it has its own blood supply bringing it oxygen. It has veins and arteries which help in tranasportation of blood
Also the heart doesn not even take a single second rest and hence it is known so
