Here is your answer.

Why is India called the land of variety?

India is a country which is incredibly rich in culture and heritage, rather it's a conflunece of cultures.

India is the birth place of 4 religions(3 of which predates Christ) without being blasphemous of each other. Today we accommodate almost all communities in the world.

India is a land of Racial diversity - Region to region colour and features of it's citizens changes.

India is a land of Lingustic diversity - there are a total of 400+ languages spoken in India. You travel across India every 200kms the dialet changes and every 500kms the language itself changes.

Land of Multicusines - Each region, each state has it's own cuisine. One man's staple food is a no go for another. Indian cusines fall broadly in to 3 categories

Satvic - which stands for balance
Rajas - which is passion
Tamas - indulgence.
Different Art forms. Each Region and state have their own artform. They have their own attires.

Different geographies - we have some of the fertile lands in the world in Indo gangetic plains. 500 kms westwards from there we have a desert. Another 400 kms south from thar desert we have barren salt lands of Kutch. We have snow covered peaks. We have a place where highest rainfall in the world happens. We have some of the driest lands were people don't get water to drink.

Inspite of the diversity and difference we move as one nation. This is what makes India a land of variety.

India is not just a land of variety but a land of extremes as well.

India has the highest number of people who go to bed in hunger, at the same time India has the 3rd highest no of billionaires in the world.

We have people who protest against padmavati becoz it allegdly is blasphemous of a queen who lived 700 yrs ago, on the other side we have people who indulge without any inhibitions.

You would come across people who are extremely kind and hospitable who believe in atiti Devo bhava. The very next minute you would come across a molester or a robber.

Inspite of all these extremes we are one nation.

I will end with a Sanskrit slogan

“Janani janmabhumischa swargadhapi gariyasi”

This translates to Mother and Motherland are like heaven.

Hope it helps you.
