HLO!!!HERE IS YOUR ANSWER.....

Federalism refers to a mixed or compound mode of government, combining a general government ( a central or ‘federal' government) with regional governments ( provincial, state , land, cantonal, territorial or other sub-unit governments) in a single political system.

Federalism has multi-level governance with each level having particular powers on the basis of constitution. Therefore India is called  as quasi federation

Question:-

Why is India called a quasi federal government?

Answer:-

India is called a quasi federal government because:-

  • The states are subject to central authority when it  comes to issues of national interest. They, however, have the autonomy to take decisions in matters of local interest.
  • No state has the power to secede from the Indian  Union.
