Indian constitution specifies the distribution of legislative, administrative and executive powers between the Union or Federal or Central government, and the States of India.

FEDERALISM :- it is a system of government in which entities such as states or province share power with central government.
The Indian government clearly provided
threefold distribution of legislative powers between Union government and state government which contains three list.
1 . union list
2.state list
3.concurrent list
Now, coming to your question
We all know that India is a vast country which have various languages, religious, religions. Which should be control through federalism. It can't be control through single government. Thus India needs federal government which needs power sharing.
