India is known as the country of village because :-

1) Approximately 70% of population in India lives in villages. India is the land of farmers and hence there are more villages than developed city.

2) There are many beautiful villages in India that also attracts tourist for vacations.

3) Villages are mainly less polluted, noise free, calm and serene.

4) Although due to poverty and underdevelopment villagers tend to opt for farming but this has facilitated the yield in crop and vegetables.
