India with its neighbouring countries is called Indian subcontinent... India is called as a subcontinent because it is a distinct landmass..Not Just A Country ...The Indian subcontinent can be called as South Asia...

The type of flora and fauna and weather conditions are different in India and its neighbours
That’s why India an d its neighbours form a special sub part of the continent of Asia
Hence , called as Indian subcontinent
