Why is it difficult the hold a school baghaving strap made of thin and strong string

because it make a large pressure on our shoulder...as pressure=force/area...hence pressure is inversly prop to area ....hence smaller the area that is thin strip of school bag as compared to thick strips will make a large pressure on our shulders
