Why is it easier to hammer a sharp nail into wood than a blunt one ?

As pressure is inversely proportional to area i.e the smaller the area the more will be the pressure...so sharp nail with a tip at the top has smaller area of contact that the blunt one...thus...it is easier to hammer a sharp nail instead of a blunt one..Hope it helps..
