\huge{\boxed{\sf{ANSWER :}}}

It has been found that cutting an apple with a sharp knife is easier than cutting with a blunt knife. It is because of the fact that blunt knife has a larger surface area than the sharp knife. And we know that if the surface area is large then pressure exerted by it will be less and if the surface area is small pressure exerted by it will be more. So, sharp knife has smaller surface area than the blunt knife so the sharp knife exerts large pressure on the apple and thus cutting an apple with sharp knife is very easy.

Q. Why is it easy to cut an apple with sharp knife than a blunt one?

Ans:-

Cutting an apple with a sharp knife is more easier than a cutting an apple with a blunt knife because a sharp knife exert a more pressure in very less area while blunt knife exert a less pressure in more area.

The pressure and area is related by :-

\boxed{\sf{P \propto \dfrac{1}{area}}}

when,

the pressure is more the area is less.

when the area is more the pressure is less.

Same things happen when we cut an apple with a blunt knife.

Because area of blunt knife in comparison of sharp knife is more.
