why is it important to see the expiry date in packed food items before consuming them?

The expiration date is the date up to which the food maintains its microbiological and physical stability, and the nutrient content declared on the label. That means it's important to use that food before the expiry date to get the most nutritional value from it.

hey dude ...
expiry date is a previously determined date after which something should no longer be used . it is the date at which a document , agreement etc . has no legal force . it seems after this food product spoils and is no longer safe to eat .
hope it helps ....
