Why is it not possible for people to involve directly but only through the elected representatives' decision making?

Because it is physically impossible for people to sit together n people don't have that much desire n talent to do so

It is not possible because people may not be that much talented or educated to choose the correct leader .. It's almost impossible to sit and discuss for all the people at one place in a Country .. Even if it is possible then it can lead to instability among the people..
