Why is it not possible to charge one end of a metal rod?

Since metal is a conductor and charging one end of the metal will result in conduction of the charge in the form of current electricity rather than storing of the charge in one of the end of the rod in the form of static electricity as it happens in the case of insulators .

metal is a good conductor of electricity because of which any charge in it does not stay at one spot..
