It is quite simpler to plot the log of the resistance of thermistor against temperature. The reason is given below.

  • If you need to straighten out a curve in a graphical plot of two parameters, particularly if one axis covers a wide range that avoids all of your data appearing  on one sheet of paper, then log the wide ranging variable.
  • And if that doesn’t utterly straighten the curve, then log it once more.
  • I suspect that there is an exponential correlation between resistance and thermistor temperature, hence the need to plot the log of resistance against temperature to produce linearity.
