Why is it that rain drops but snow falls?

Rain water is denser than the snow. For the same reason, ice floats over water in lakes and oceans. Since water is denser it has more weight and itdrops as rainfall while snow is less denser and falls! ... Sometimes fish fallfrom the sky when it rains

Yes if you consider an equal size of rain drop and snow both have similar mass but the density of both differs.
