Why is it that the houses in the terai region and in goa and manglore have sloping roofs?

Because these coastal areas have heavy monsoon rains due to which houses aged rapidly . To avoid more & quick damage , the roofs in these area kept sloppy  so rain water can drain quickly & couldn't harm or weaken the roof more .
