The main reason for the temperature difference between Varansi and Lucknow is due to the fact that Varanasi lies on the bank of the river Ganges.
The cooling effect of Ganges provides chill temperature to Varanasi. In the contrast, Lucknow do not have any water bodies near to it.
Hence, Lucknow and Varansi has different climatic conditions even though they are in the same Uttar Pradesh state.
